Last post for February!
Happy Birthday to my brother-in-law Chris. He turns 29 (for the first time) today. My niece Abby had her 4th birthday on Monday. She is such a joyous beam of light, and I pray she grows into the Godly young woman that I know she can be.
We spent Saturday making a day trip to celebrate these two birthday kids. My sister-in-law threw them a joint Disney Princess/ Marvel Superhero birthday bash. It was super cute and I could tell she put in a lot of work. All had a good time. William wore his Captain America costume and had a blast pretending to be a hero. He also got a dragon painted on his arm by the face painter. He was so proud. Robert ran around with the big kids and had a blast. So fun!
The only sad part of the day was that I touched my face at one point and realized it was swollen. Also, touching in made it hurt super bad. As the afternoon wore on, the swelling worsened. By the time I looked in a mirror at dinner, I looked like I had the mumps on my left side. I could barely eat dinner because opening my mouth put pressure on the swollen area. We headed home after dinner and I waited overnight, but the next morning showed no improvement. While the rest of the family went to church, I headed to the after hours clinic. The doctor came in and literally went, "Holy Cow! How did this happen?" When I told him I didn't know and answered his questions, he shrugged and said, "That's bizarre! I'll be right back." He was gone for a few minutes, where I assume he was doing some research, because he came back and told me he thinks my salivary gland is infected which is why my lymph node is nearly the size of a grapefruit. I got antibiotics and have sense begun the slow healing process. I no longer feel like my jaw is wired shut, but I do hope I am back to normal by Saturday when we leave!
The rest of the week has mostly been spent packing and cleaning the house. My mom came in Sunday night in order to watch the boys on Monday so Francis and I could go to the anatomy scan for baby #3. The baby is perfect. 10 fingers and toes, and everything is where it should be. Heart rate and blood flow were healthy. Yes, we found out what we are having, but as I am still in the process of telling family and close friends, I will not reveal that yet on here. You'll just have to wait.
I feel mean saying this, but you'll likely have to wait a couple weeks to see the answer on this blog as we will be more or less "off the grid" next week while on board our cruise. Till next time!

February 18, 2015
This past week has flown by. Not sure what I did with it, but life here is never dull.
I met my new Dr. She's nice, young (aka only had 3.5 years experience after her residency), and I like her. She seems to be a bit intimidated by me and the fact I have already had two years. She kept deferring to me as the "expert" which was kind but also a little unnerving. Not sure how to explain it, but I do want to feel like my doctor is the expert. I'm sure she will do a great job delivering PS3 (phillips 3) here in July, so we are good to go!
Robert has yet again astounded me by his use of language only when it suits him. He has to really want it in order to speak. Otherwise he just whines or screams to get his wish. This week I have hear him say, "cookie", "chip", "popcorn", and "more more more more". I am noticing that he really likes food. He does get upset when I say, "no". He has also said, "dance" and started dancing, wanting me to join in. I love this kid. He's as cute as can be. He's becoming more independent. We went to Mt. Playmore today and he spent a good 30 minutes climbing independently around the play structure. William followed him for a bit, but found one of his friends from the Little Gym and took off. So Robert went around by himself until he made his own friend. Then she and he were inseparable even until we left. It's fun to see these kids turn into little people who interact with others. I'm so glad I'm along for the ride.
Well, it finally happened. Not sure if I should even broach this subject, but I'm going to. William has started to pee standing up. I don't even know what to do with that. He's tall enough (when did that happen!?) and he realizes it is much faster. On his half birthday last week (the 10th), he actually used a urinal for the first time. Where has my baby gone?! Ok, I'll leave it there, so I won't gross you out further, but I am having a bit of a crisis at how big he's gotten. So there you go.
Valentine's Day was a success. The boys woke up and we opened cards and each boy got a small gift. I got flowers and a blue tooth so I can now drive and legally talk on the phone. We had a special breakfast and then shot off model rockets at a local park. We had lunch at BJs, then came back for a rest. We then went and had the cars washed and detailed before coming back to cook some delicious steak and have a family movie (The Lion King). It was so fun! Francis and I had our night out last Friday at Maggiano's, so I am glad we got the day with our boys.
Francis had Monday off. He took William skating in the afternoon, after taking all of us out for lunch at Chick-fil-a. William had greatly improved in his ability according to Francis, gaining a lot of control of his feet. William still loves skating, and Francis loves taking him. A match made in heaven.
Monday night we did something that the planner in me thought would never happen. We booked a trip. We leave in 10 days. Why so short? We wanted to take a baby-moon, and then realized that I cannot be on a boat after 24 weeks (a date that is rapidly approaching), and so we booked a cruise for the first week of March. Crazy, but we did want to avoid the spring break crowd. We are taking the boys. We will be going to Cozumel, Roatan, and Belize city. Three countries to add to the boy's list and two countries to add to Francis's. I am so excited! Now to get everything else ready before we leave. I panic a little when I think about it, but I know it will all work out. The timing was just too perfect (we put the room on hold just moments before the "sold out" sign came up for that cruise), and we know we just need to take a break and spend time as a family. William is so excited. He's excited about everything, but especially the desserts. Don't ask me why. He just wanted to make sure there would be dessert on board and that he could have some. If you keep us in your prayers, please pray this would be a time to relax and recuperate before everything ramps up again.
Exterminator is here right now. He is doing another round of treatment. He opened the garage and said, "there's the smell off death" and is now checking the traps, so I'm hoping that's a good sign. We'll see!
That's all for now.

It's been an emotional week and a half for me. I won't go into details because a. the meltdowns were almost entirely hormone related, b. you'd think I'm a whiner about NOTHING and probably not want to read my posts again, and c. you'd get bored.
Soooo, let's instead focus on some positives, both for my sanity and yours. We have had no sickness or injuries for a week and a half now! this is the first time since a week before Christmas that this has been true. Hallelujah! To God be the glory for this.
Robert has recently become very interested in building and construction. as soon as he has finished breakfast each morning, he runs over and wants me to open the mega blocks so he can build the tallest tower possible. He does it entirely independently and the structures he creates are very impressive and somewhat Dr. Seuss-like. I also discovered he knows a bunch of sign language. I work on it with him, but he is selective on his reproduction. Well, I made brownies for the widows' valentine's luncheon at church and Robert saw them. He did ever sign he knew to try to get them, even throwing in a please and thank you. You can imagine the meltdown that occurred when he still didn't get any. If he keeps building on his tantrums like this, his "terrible twos" are going to be epic. Let's hope he's already peaked! Robert has also become very clingy as of late. He loves his mommy and daddy and doesn't want to be put down (ever!). It's cute most of the time, especially when he gives that cheesy smile and a kiss with a huge bear hug...but sometimes momma needs to do something and he does not like being put down unless wants it first. It makes for creative maneuvering.
William has taken an interest in writing again. We took a break from "school" from Thanksgiving to Christmas, and are back in the habit now that we are well. William wants to write all sorts of words, and even has taken an interest in typing. We bring the boys up to our Bible Life class on Sundays while we set up the room. This week, William goes, "Mommy, Look!" and he has typed his name in the word processor which has then been projected on the overhead screen. He was so proud and so was I. He went on to type Robert, Mom and Dad. He's getting so big! He also wrote his name on the back of his paper in class on Sunday without anyone telling him too. Even though I know he can do it, he usually tells his teachers it's too hard. But he surprised them and me this week.
I mentioned the Widow's luncheon. I served at the luncheon on Saturday and it was a joy. While I knew some of the ladies at the table I hosted, I got to know others and they warmed my heart. I am at a loss for words really. I think I got more out of it than they did. They were so gracious. Our church is blessed to have such sweet, godly women.
I will mention one of the bad things that has happened this week simply because it is an ongoing problem. We have rats...living in my car (yes in!), our garage, and (cringe) even in the house. I found the evidence on Tuesday that they were in my car (they chewed through a strap in William's car seat and pooped in the back), and then found droppings in the garage as well. We immediately placed down traps/poison, but yesterday there was rat poop in "my spot" on the couch. Yes, I have considered selling my car and house over this...and pretty much every disturbing thought you are thinking I've already had. We have an exterminator coming today. Please pray he is able to fix the problem. I've been holding up ok, but it's only a matter of time before I completely freak out and check into a hotel.
I meet my new OBGYN on wedneday. I pray she is just what I need. My other one was so awesome (but doesn't deliver babies anymore), that this one will have a lot to live up to!!!! Francis will hopefully some with me so he can get a read on her too. The advantage to this Dr is that she delivers at the same hospital as the boys were born. I'll let you know how it goes.
Well, that's it for now! Thanks for reading!

January 29, 2015
It's been a busy couple of weeks, but not usually for the best reasons.
One good reason it was busy is my mom came into town Monday before last for the Governor's Inauguration and Ball. She stayed through Wednesday and even got to stay and come with me to see the baby via sonogram. The baby looked great and healthy. That Tuesday evening we had a record 9 ladies from our Sunday School class at Ladies Night where we ate at the Cheesecake factory. It was so fun! We also took the side off Robert's crib (turning it into a toddler bed) last week and he's been doing great. He hasn't gotten out in the middle of the night yet, and he's still sleeping well, so I will call that a big win!!! Great job, big boy!
Now for the bad news. We've been sick...again. Sunday before last in the afternoon, Robert started acting funny and running a fever followed by diarrhea and a little vomiting. He was a fussy and generally unhappy. Tuesday William said his stomach hurt and proceeded to vomit everything he ate until basically Friday. He also had diarrhea. Wednesday, you guessed it... I became the third casualty (after going to my appointment). My stomach hurt, fever, aches, nauseam and diarrhea. You get the picture. I didn't start feeling better until Saturday. Robert recovered around Thursday so he had run of the house while William and I could barely move. It was a rough week. Francis as usual remained untouched. He's one lucky duck.
This week we've finally been well enough to get back into a routine. the weather here has been great, so we've been soaking up the sun. Robert fell in the backyard on Monday and caught himself with his hands. He immediately screamed in pain and it took me the better part of 30 minutes to calm him down. He eventually went back to playing, but he wasn't using his arm like he would normally. That night, every time he'd roll over, he'd wake up fussing. It was a long night. We went to The Little Gym Tuesday and while Robert would do all of the activities, he was generally refusing to use his right arm and would jerk away if I touched it. I made a doctor's appointment and went in just sure it was somehow broken. Dr. Enders assessed that he had dislocated his elbow. She quickly and easily popped it back into place with just a little whimper from Robert, but he was immediately moving it like normal again. He hasn't had any problem since and I am glad it was such an easy fix. He would not have enjoyed a cast and neither would I.
I met a new neighbor yesterday when the boys and I were out on a walk. She has twin 12 week olds and is new to the stay at home mom thing. I gave her my number and hopefully I can encourage her when I see her again soon. Being a new mom is tough, and not knowing anyone makes it even tougher. I pray she finds the perfect support group for her!
I have been feeling the baby move more and more. I can tell more often when they are awake. It's such a fun time! I've finally passed the morning sickness phase and so I can really enjoy being pregnant. Praise be to God!
Robert is in the experimentation phase of learning. He has to do it all himself, as long as I'm nearby of course. He has gotten excellent at building with his Megablocks and beams with pride when he makes a tower as tall as he is. He is learning the rules by trial and error. He gets upset because he can't express himself as he would like, but we are working through it and he's learning to be patient with me. I know he'll be talking my ear off in no time, but for now I have to help provide some of the words he needs. He's got a lot of determination. It will get him far in life!
William is absorbing information all the time. He tells me all sorts of stuff he has learned, discovered or wants to know. I can't believe he is 3 sometimes and yet wants to have such deep conversations. He really loves reading his Jesus Storybook Bible at night. It makes me happy that he begs for just one more story because "that's not the end of the book". So smart and such a thirst. I can't wait to see where it takes him.

We're having a baby!
BIG NEWS! We are expecting again!
We found out back in November that a third Phillips child was on the way. Although we were wanting another, I'm not sure Francis was quite ready for the news. It was already a big day to be fair, and this was the wonderful icing on the cake. After nearly passing out, Francis and I smiled and hugged and I cried for joy. We told the boys the next morning. William has been wanting another brother or sister. When we told him the news, he smiled, looked at Robert and said, "Oh Robert! You're going to be an awesome big brother!" He hugged Robert and I cried. It was just too sweet. William went around telling everyone how thankful he was for "his baby" all week and everyone just assumed he meant Robert (It was just before Thanksgiving after all).
When I went to Dallas for my birthday, we told all the family together. At my birthday party, I opened the last gift which was from William. It was a picture he had colored of a mom, dad, two boys and a baby. I asked William to explain who was in the picture. He said, "Mommy, Daddy, William, Robert and the new baby." Well, it was a little loud in the room, so my mother was the only one who heard it. She said, "Wait what? Are you serious? Am I the only one that heard this? You're pregnant?" At that point Robert came out in a shirt that said, "big brother" which caused additional confusion and eventual joy. Everyone hugged me, Francis, William and Robert. William got to explain to everyone else about his picture, which he enjoyed greatly.
Between Thanksgiving and Christmas we got to see the heart beat. It was strong and beautiful. Both boys and Francis were able to join me to see the baby for the first time. The doctor told us that there is only one baby, but not before Francis turned white as a sheet imagining that their might be two or three. William argued for a minute that it was twins, but eventually agreed he could only see one "circle baby". Robert helped the Dr. move the wand across my stomach so he was happy as could be. the doctor confirmed the July 28, 2015 due date.
Christmastime we told all the great grandparents. They were so excited. Mom and Pop Noble said I better keep that baby warm in Canada. Jamama and Japapa said they couldn't wait to meet this bundle of joy. Nana Phillips was so cute. We brought her a book with pictures and audio of the boys and gave it to her as soon as we arrived. The last page of the book had a picture of the sonogram and William's voice saying, "Guess what Nana! There's a new baby coming. Robert's going to be a big brother!" Nana was so excited and shared the news with everyone. It was such a fun time.
I have been feeling an immense amount of fatigue and morning sickness with this one. The fatigue is not new, but the morning sickness is. I never had any with the other two. I think I am finally past it though, thank goodness! Francis has been excellent picking up the slack. I know it isn't easy, but he's done it without complaint!
We went to the specialist a couple weeks ago and everything looks good on their wall-sized sonogram. The dr said baby looks just perfect and she could just stare all day. The blood test came back normal so we are good!
Oh! I felt baby move for the first time yesterday. I was singing I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables at the top of my lungs when baby did what I can only describe as a jumping jack. If baby had been any bigger, it would have knocked the wind out of me. As it was, it surprised me greatly. I stopped singing and rubbed my tummy and laughed right out loud. I’ve suspected that I’ve felt movement before, but this time, there was no confusion. Not sure if baby liked the song or my singing, but they reacted and I knew they were there! I look forward to all the kicks, somersaults, jumping jacks and everything in between as baby grows and develops.
There's the cliff notes version of what's going on with PS3 (Phillips #3). Tune in again soon!

January 17, 2015
Well, we are finally getting back on schedule and the boys are healthy. I'm still trying to clear out all the drainage, but I'm miles from where I've been. For this, I am truly grateful.
I hadn't noticed how much the boys have grown until we went to Mt. Playmore on Wednesday. Robert was able to climb all over the structure and even go to the top all by himself. Robert could also ride sit on car that rolls along a "roller coaster" route all by himself without falling off. I got a video of the boys doing it at the same time. William is now tall enough to do one of the coin games without me having to lift him up to reach the hole. before he would have to at least sit or stand on my knee which was uncomfortable. William is also able to wash his hands both at home and out without needing a boost. I guess I'd been comparing them only to one another and was blind to the fact they've both grown. It is fun to watch but occasionally I feel like I'm watching the movie in fast forward. Slow down!
I have so much to say, but not on here. It seems silly to even write that, but I fee like I'm being terse. We do have a lot going on. I wouldn't be nearly so tired if we didn't. I was finally well enough to attend our Bible Life class on Sunday. We have a new teacher and we had two couple visit. I'm excited to see how God uses us both as a class and as a church.
My mom was here on Monday and took us out to dinner with my Aunt Camille. We went to wing and More and had a delicious meal. The boys love their Sweetie and it's always an adventure when she's around!
More to come in the next edition. That's it for now!

Happy New Year!
....and.... we are still sick. Progress has been made in that we have rid ourselves of the bacterial infection, but the cold lingers and at times, it seems, intensifies. Robert had another doctor appointment yesterday and is having some wheezing, so we are now doing breathing treatments (which he HATES). William is probably the healthiest of us (other than Francis), but still coughs on occasion. He also busted his forehead open on our coffee table on Tuesday which the doctor has shut with tape. The table has completely round edges and he was less than an inch from the surface when he stood up into it. Still not sure what happened....Oh and then I got a call from the health department that the infection we had has reached epidemic status in Travis county where we live. They wanted to make sure we didn't come infect anyone else. We didn't as far as I know, but the thought that we could get it again (the nurse said it's everywhere) is not one I like to entertain. Fun times.
We have seen both my in-laws and parents this week. My in-law came up on Saturday to bring us our camera that was mailed to them from Canada (we left it in the rental car). They were super kind to bring it to us! My parents came up for the governor's inauguration on Monday. The boys and I had lunch with them. Apart from these outings, we've been to Little Gym and Bible Study the past couple of days. Everything else we've done since the New year had involved a Dr. or pharmacy. We were getting a little stir crazy.
On a happy note, Robert is growing like crazy. He actually played trains WITH William yesterday instead of ripping up the track or being "babyzilla" for the villagers. He step gently over the track and ran the train around making noises and laughing. He is understanding so much, and he has been promoted to the big table. He sits in a booster seat and eats with us now. He is so proud! He is coming up with new words each day. Today's word was "poo poo" while I was changing his dirty diaper. He exclaimed it with glee and giggled. He's all boy. Robert's starting to ask for what he wants and tries to be silly to get us to laugh. He engages William in games and will even play tag a little. The boys favorite thing to do together is use their play kitchen. they cook me all sorts of silly food and then delight as I pretend to eat it. They are so sweet. Robert just looks older too. He can run, almost jump and even come close to doing a somersault independently. He's so much more a toddler than a baby now. My big boy!

That's really all for now. I'm still in recovery mode, so I need a nap!
