BIG NEWS! We are expecting again!
We found out back in November that a third Phillips child was on the way. Although we were wanting another, I'm not sure Francis was quite ready for the news. It was already a big day to be fair, and this was the wonderful icing on the cake. After nearly passing out, Francis and I smiled and hugged and I cried for joy. We told the boys the next morning. William has been wanting another brother or sister. When we told him the news, he smiled, looked at Robert and said, "Oh Robert! You're going to be an awesome big brother!" He hugged Robert and I cried. It was just too sweet. William went around telling everyone how thankful he was for "his baby" all week and everyone just assumed he meant Robert (It was just before Thanksgiving after all).
When I went to Dallas for my birthday, we told all the family together. At my birthday party, I opened the last gift which was from William. It was a picture he had colored of a mom, dad, two boys and a baby. I asked William to explain who was in the picture. He said, "Mommy, Daddy, William, Robert and the new baby." Well, it was a little loud in the room, so my mother was the only one who heard it. She said, "Wait what? Are you serious? Am I the only one that heard this? You're pregnant?" At that point Robert came out in a shirt that said, "big brother" which caused additional confusion and eventual joy. Everyone hugged me, Francis, William and Robert. William got to explain to everyone else about his picture, which he enjoyed greatly.
Between Thanksgiving and Christmas we got to see the heart beat. It was strong and beautiful. Both boys and Francis were able to join me to see the baby for the first time. The doctor told us that there is only one baby, but not before Francis turned white as a sheet imagining that their might be two or three. William argued for a minute that it was twins, but eventually agreed he could only see one "circle baby". Robert helped the Dr. move the wand across my stomach so he was happy as could be. the doctor confirmed the July 28, 2015 due date.
Christmastime we told all the great grandparents. They were so excited. Mom and Pop Noble said I better keep that baby warm in Canada. Jamama and Japapa said they couldn't wait to meet this bundle of joy. Nana Phillips was so cute. We brought her a book with pictures and audio of the boys and gave it to her as soon as we arrived. The last page of the book had a picture of the sonogram and William's voice saying, "Guess what Nana! There's a new baby coming. Robert's going to be a big brother!" Nana was so excited and shared the news with everyone. It was such a fun time.
I have been feeling an immense amount of fatigue and morning sickness with this one. The fatigue is not new, but the morning sickness is. I never had any with the other two. I think I am finally past it though, thank goodness! Francis has been excellent picking up the slack. I know it isn't easy, but he's done it without complaint!
We went to the specialist a couple weeks ago and everything looks good on their wall-sized sonogram. The dr said baby looks just perfect and she could just stare all day. The blood test came back normal so we are good!
Oh! I felt baby move for the first time yesterday. I was singing I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables at the top of my lungs when baby did what I can only describe as a jumping jack. If baby had been any bigger, it would have knocked the wind out of me. As it was, it surprised me greatly. I stopped singing and rubbed my tummy and laughed right out loud. I’ve suspected that I’ve felt movement before, but this time, there was no confusion. Not sure if baby liked the song or my singing, but they reacted and I knew they were there! I look forward to all the kicks, somersaults, jumping jacks and everything in between as baby grows and develops.
There's the cliff notes version of what's going on with PS3 (Phillips #3). Tune in again soon!
